About me and my practice

As a person-centred counsellor, I make our relationship a priority and know how much building trust enables you to open up, reflect and grow inner strength and resilience. I aim to create a safe space where you can feel comfortable bringing whatever you need to share.

I take an integrative approach and although my practice is based on the core conditions of empathy, congruence and non-judgement, I will bring in different approaches from other theories such as CBT, positive psychology and psychoeducation to meet your needs and support you in the best way I can.

I often consider core beliefs, how they impact your thoughts, feelings and behaviours in the present and how we can challenge these limiting beliefs. I believe that you have the capacity to change and grow and with the right support, you can become the person you want to be.

I have experience working in private practice, education establishments and for counselling services in the North-East. I have many years experience in education and training and currently work in a university counselling service supporting students. I work with adults over 18 and specialise in anxiety and low mood, low self-esteem, bereavement, relationship difficulties and sexual violence, including childhood abuse and males who have experienced sexual violence.

Initial Consultation

I know how important it is to find the right therapist, someone you connect with and can build trust in so I offer a free online initial consultation of around 20 - 30 minutes to see if you think we will be a good match to work together.

Fees

£60 per session

When I Work

I am available for in-person counselling sessions in central Gateshead or remote counselling sessions, either online or by telephone, anywhere in the UK.

I am currently accepting new clients so please do get in touch.

Please note I currently only have day time appointments available. There is a waiting list for evening appointments.
